Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons NIDO® Fortificada (about 30g)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (240ml)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • For the Chocolate Swirl:
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons warm water

Step by step

  • Activate Yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water (not hot) with sugar and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  • Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, NIDO® Fortificada, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and softened butter. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  • First Rise: Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  • Prepare Chocolate Paste: Mix cocoa powder, sugar, and warm water into a smooth paste.

  • Shape and Swirl: Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle. Spread the chocolate paste evenly.

  • Second Rise: Place the rolled dough into a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for 30-40 minutes until puffy.

  • Bake: Preheat oven to 180° Celsius (350° Fahrenheit). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

    Optional: Brush with melted butter after baking for a soft crust.

  • Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly before slicing to reveal the swirl.
